Since 2014 we organize Kitesurfing Cruises (we call them Kite Safari) in the Red Sea. It’s a week long trip with a Luxury motoryacht as our home – we will be sleeping, eating in our restaurant on board, chilling and partying on our boat, ready to go kite when the sun rises!
Our kite cruises are planned all year long (you can see here our scheduled dates), and we decided to make 3 weeks this August, 5th-12th, 12th-19th and 19th-26th of August, where we will teach all our kiters who need some lessons free of charge! For 980€ for the full week you will have a full kitesurfing camp and an all inclusive service on the boat.
The Kite safari will start from the marina of Hurghada, Egypt, every Saturday. All you need to do is find a flight arriving right before Sunday 7am (that’s when the boat leaves the port), and we will take care of everything else.
If you need help for finding flights let us know – we will help you organize every detail of your trip. The airport of arrival is the Hurghada international airport (HRG). And if August is not a good time for your holidays, check our Kite Cruise weeks plan, to see if other dates may fit your schedule!
Queen Sherry is one of the best boats available for Kite Cruises. It can hosts up to 22 kiters plus 2 kite guides, and it comes equipped with a full staff of sailors, captain and chef that will prepare for you 3 meals per day in our restaurant. There are several decks, a chill deck, a solarium, a restaurant, and plenty of space to make your holiday a very comfortable one. All cabins have twin beds, with their own private toilet, shower and air condition.
Queen Sherry comes equipped with two zodiacs, that we will use to reach the lagoons and the islands of the Red Sea. We do not launch kites from the boat, but we do setup all our kite gear on the beach.
DAY 1 – At arrival in Hurghada International Airport (HRG) you will find one of our team that will come with you, on our shuttle bus, directly to the boat. You will meet the rest of the kiters on board and get into your cabin. We will have time for a quick walk and for the first dinner on the boat, and maybe a drink before going to bed. We will be sleeping in Hurghada Marina the first night, ready to departure early the next morning.
DAY 2 – As early as possible we will leave Hurghada Marina and head to our first kitespot of our kite safari, Abu Mungar. This is the perfect way to get started with a good warm up session, and after lunch we will do some more kiting in the same kite spot, till sunset. The boat is always available if you are tired and you need a bit of extra rest. After sunset we will head back to the boat for some drinks, dinner and some music on the main deck. We will be sleeping in Abu Mungar (on the boat obviously).
DAY 3 – The morning dawns are perfect for kiting, especially in the summer! I personally wake up every morning at 5:30 to check the wind conditions, and if you want you can join me at 6am for a short session before breakfast. If you prefer to sleep, breakfast is at 8, and then we will move during breakfast to Tawila island, one of the best kite spots of the Red Sea. We will have a small session before lunch and have a long afternoon in the wind, for some solid kitesurfing. After dinner we will have a fishing session with our chef to learn how to fish calamari, and some drink and music on the main deck.
DAY 4 – We will be staying all day kiting in Tawila – this day the boat will not be moving, so we will be sleeping in Tawila again.
DAY 5 – We will head to the north of the Red Sea, to reach Geisum Kite spot. We will have a bbq after kiting on the beach, then head to the boat for a well deserved sleep.
DAY 6 – Today we will do a downwinder, and to do that we will be moving from even further up north, from Ashrafi Islands, and kite back to Geisum. The downwinder is for intermediate riders only, but we will have plenty of time to kite for everyone else when we arrive back to Geisum. It will be a long day, so get prepared!
DAY 7 – This is the last kiting day, as we need to be back at the Hurghada Marina by sunset. We will kite in Geisum and head back to port, have a last dinner on the boat or maybe decide that we want to explore the town of El Gouna or Hurghada and have a few drinks in some bars. We will sleep on the boat in the marina.
DAY 8 – Last half day on the boat. We will have to leave the boat right after lunch and our shuttle bus will take you to the airport, depending on when you have scheduled your flights. If your flight is scheduled for later in the day, you can spend your day on the beach of have a last kiting day in El Gouna, at our favorite kite spot. See you next time!
This is basically the plan of the week – depending on the wind, since according to the wind forecast we may change our plan and route of the week. And in case of no wind, we have planned some action packed activities – wakeboarding, snorkeling and paddleboarding. In August though the wind is normally very constant and predictable, and we do expect a great windy season!
