15th-22nd June // 22nd-29th June 2024Imagine a luxury yacht, a moving hotel, cruising the Red Sea towards the best lagoons and kite spots of Egypt – that is what a Kite Safari is. It is a kitesurfing adventure and an unique kitesurfing experience – an ideal natural combination of fine white sand, strong wind, and calm water, pampered by our yacht and its experienced crew. Our yacht is a luxury motorboat 35m long, with two-person cabins, each one with its own toilet, shower, and air conditioning. There is a restaurant, where our chef will prepare 3 fresh meals per day, to keep our bodies fit for the kite sessions ahead, a comfortable chill deck where you can relax with a drink or listen to music, and a solarium.
For full beginners, this Kite cruise camp to include kitesurfing lessons – kitesurfing is a cool sport, but kitesurfing lessons are pricey and learning can be an expensive experience. That’s why we teach for free during our trip. Kite safaris are good though for any level – it is a lot of kitesurfing, so progression is guaranteed.
This June trip will take place from 15th to the 22nd and from the 22nd to the 29th of June 2024. We will meet you at Hurghada International Airport, and from there we will take care of everything – all you have to do is having a great time, bring good energy, and be prepared for an intensive kite trip.
On June 15th you will board our yacht, but the boat will move on the 16th early in the morning. And the remaining days are kiting days – summer generally offer good winds, so we expect a good kiting week!

Our yacht on this journey is called New Regency. This is a luxury yacht, hosting up to 24 kiters, including our team. The yacht comes with its own crew – captain, chef, sailors, and our Sick Dog kite experts in charge of having everything organized on and off the boat – we planned many kitesurfing cruises in the Red Sea, and we started operating in 2015.
New Regencu is a great, spacious and comfortable boat. 3 decks, a huge solarium, a comfortable upper deck with a bar for drinks and music, and the main deck for getting our kite gear ready. The boat comes with 2 zodiacs that will take you in the morning to the kite spots – we do not launch our kites from the boat, even if that is possible. Our evenings and nights are chilled and relaxed, sometimes more active, thanks to our DJ on board and a few good drinks. We also have a private kitchen where our chef will serve you delicious meals. All cabins have 2 single beds, and it is possible, if you feel romantic, to sleep on any of our decks, looking at the stars.
DAY 1 – This day will be the arrival day. We will pick you up at Hurghada International Airport and take you to the waiting New Regency. That day you can have dinner on board served by our chef and if you want, you can visit the town of Hurghada and have a few drinks in the marina. Otherwise, you will enjoy a drink on board and have an early night. Big day tomorrow.
DAY 2 – We will leave the marina early in the morning, to our first kitesurfing spot on the beautiful island of Abu Mungar. The first lessons will start that day for the beginners, and it is a good place to test your gear and warm up for the week – our kite cruise has officially started! We will eat and sleep on the boat in Abu Mungar.
DAY 3 – This 3rd day we will have breakfast then move to another famous island, the breathtaking island of Tawila. We will kite and sleep here.
DAY 4 – Since Tawila is worth it, we will spend another day here. Waking up early in the morning to greet the dawn on the sea is a feeling you can’t forget. At the end of the day, we will move the boat to another kite spot, Geisum to prepare for the next morning.
DAY 5 – This day we will kite again at sunrise at Geisum and stay all day on this outstanding spot. At the end of the day, we will have a BBQ party on the beach.
DAY 6 – This day will be a little different. Early in the morning we will reach Ashrafi Island by boat, and from there we will start a downwinder back towards Geisum. It is an easy downwinder, with small waves, around 90 minutes long. We will stay in Geisum for the rest of the day.
DAY 7 – This will be the last day of the trip. We will kite at dawn in Geisum until noon, then the yacht will take us back to Hurghada at sunset. We will have dinner on board or at a sea food restaurant in Hurghada, and we will sleep our last night on the boat in the marina.
DAY 8 – This is our last day. Our minibus will take you back to Hurghada International Airport or to your hotel, if you planned another few days in Egypt. See you next time!
Important: the route above is our classic north route kite safari, but it can change depending on the wind conditions and on the level of our riders. We will of course make sure to plan it the best way possible.
