A kitesurfing cruise in Egypt – 8 days/7 nights on our luxury motoryacht as a moving hotel, taking us to the best kitesurfing spots of the Red Sea – Sick Dog Surf and its team of kite enthusiasts, friends and instructors are ready to offer you a unique trip, a kite cruise travelling between the best kite spots in the Red Sea – Tawila, Geisum, Abu Mungar, Asharafi, all blessed with constant wind and warm and flat waters.
All you need to do is to arrive at the International Airport of Hurghada, and Roberto and his team will take care of you from there. And if this is not the best time for you to travel, or if these dates don’t fit your holiday plans, check our Kite Cruise calendar or contact us, most probably we will have the perfect trips for your needs!
Our boat this week will be New Regency – this yacht fits 24 kiters, including the Sick Dog team. It has several decks, a restaurant, a chill out bar and a solarium. All cabins have twin beds and a private toilet with shower, and some suites are also available with a queen size bed. Spacious, comfortable, and a great kite safari boat for the Red Sea, this boat will be your hotel for a week. We will not start the kites from the boat, but a smaller boat (we call them zodiac) will bring us with our gear to the beaches of the islands and the lagoons of the Red Sea. We kitesurf from dawn till sunset, so be prepared for an intensive week of kitesurfing.
DAY 1 – The Day 1 is actually the day you will arrive on the boat and go in your cabin – the boat will move on Day 2 around 7am. You will arrive at the airport anytime after midday on Day 1 and our transfer team will take you to the boat, to meet Roberto, the rest of the team and the other kiters. We will have dinner on the boat, a drink and sleep cause tomorrow morning early we will sail.
DAY 2 – In the early morning, our boat will leave the marina and head to the first kite spot of our week, Abu Mungar. We will check our gear on the sandy beaches of this spot, and have a proper warm up. We will kite here morning and afternoon, after a lunch break, and sleep on the boat in Abu Mungar.
DAY 3 – In the early morning we will be moving to Tawila, having breakfast while we move. Tawila is one of the best kite spots in the Red Sea, so we will kite here all Day 3.
DAY 4 – We will be kiting all day in Tawila, starting from dawn, and move in the afternoon to Geisum Island, where we will sleep. If the conditions are right, we will have a BBQ on the beach this night, and some calamari fishing.
DAY 5 – We will kite in Geisum all day, again starting at 6am.
DAY 6 – We will do a downwinder today, around 2h with our boat moving in front of us, back to Tawila. We will have in Tawila a late breakfast when we arrive and kite there all day.
DAY 7 – Last day on the water, we will head after lunch to the marina and have our last night at land. If we still have energy, we will go to El Gouna for dinner and some drinks, then back to the boat to sleep.
DAY 8 – Last day in Egypt! We need to leave the boat around midday, and our transfer team will take you back to the airport. See you next time!
This week we will raise money for our friends at gawa.org.uk – our donation box will be collecting donation from all our kiters to support Gawa, an animal center in Cheltenham. Check their website and make a direct donation if you want to support animals. And anything you donate on the boat, Sick Dog will match the donation.
At the end of the week, we will do a lottery and one of the lucky donors will win a Sick Dog goodie bag, containing a Sick Dog Hat, Shirt and Hoodie, to be stylish on and off the water.
We really hope this initiative will be a success, it will motivate us at Sick Dog to run more fundraisers and events to help out.
