YOUR WINTER HOLIDAYS KITE CRUISE

To escape from the European cold weather, we decided this year to run a Kite Cruise in December –  this year has been the windiest year in a long time, and we feel that even in December Egypt will give us perfect wind conditions for a great kitesurfing week on our luxury yacht. The waters are generally warm in December, but a wetsuit is needed, a 3/2 or 4/3 at least.

This Kite cruise will start from the Hurghada Marina, and the airport of arrival is Hurghada International Airport – this is an all inclusive trip: this means that all you need is to find good flights to HRG (normally cheap in the begin of December/end of November) and once you land we will have everything organized for you. OUR BOAT

Our boat this week will be Queen Sherry – it can host up to 22 kiters and 2 kite guides, it is a beautiful and spacious boat, with a restaurant, a solarium, a deck for the gear and an upper deck for chilling, party and drinking. All cabins have 2 separate beds, a private toilet and shower, and air-conditioning. This boat comes with the team of Sick Dog to lead the trip and its on crew: a captain, sailors and a chef. Keep in mind that this is a kitesurfing adventure: we kite from dawn till sunset, if the conditions are right, and this means a lot of kitesurfing.

KITE CRUISE DECEMBER – DAY BY DAY

DAY 1 – This is your arrival day: you can arrive at any time at the airport, all you need to remember is that you need to be on board before 7am of Day 2. One of our team will take you with a taxi or a minibus to the boat, and on board you will meet the rest of the team and the guests that have already arrive, and get into your cabin. The first dinner is on board, and the first night you can go and explore Hurghada or El Gouna, if you have enough energy. We will be sleeping on board in the marina. 

DAY 2 – Queen Sherry will move from port as early as possible, and head to the first kite spot of the week – Geisum East. It is a 3 hours navigation, and once arrived will kite all day till sunset, with a lunch break of course, and sleep on the boat at the spot, ready for the day after. In Geisum East is also possible to fish calamari at night, if the conditions are right! 

DAY 3 – We will be kiting all day in Geisum East, and at sunset move to Ashrafi Island, the northest spot of our kite safari, to sleep there. 

DAY 4 – We will be kiting in Ashrafi from before breakfast, so we will have 3 kite sessions this day! Ce prepared for a lot of kitesurfing today. At night we will have as always drinks and music by the chill bar in the upper deck. 

DAY 5 – It’s Downwinder Day! 2h from Ashrafi to Geisum Marina, to kite in a news spot, Geisum Marina, all day. 

DAY 6 – We will be kiting in Geisum Marina, again 3 sessions, to take advantage of the kite spot from an early morning.

DAY 7 – We will wake up early again to have some kite in Geisum Marina – at midday we will do another downwinder direction Hurghada, a 1h easy one, ending in a beautiful sandy island in the middle of the Red Sea. We will then go to the marina by boat and arrive there in the lat afternoon.

DAY 8 – Time to say goodbye! The boat will close its doors around midday, we will plan you transfer back to the airport or to any hotel of your choice, and hope to see you next time!

IMPORTANT: the plan can change, depending on the wind condition and depending on the kite spots, we will probably change this suggested route – we will basically go where we think is best for the group and where we think we can find the best conditions of the day. In case of no wind, we will snorkel, Stand up paddle and wake board!

The cost of 950€ includes

• Transfers from the airport to the boat, and back at the end of the trip. If you need any extra transfers, we can help out organizing it for you, it is 10€ extra per person.
• A single bed in a cabin for 2 persons, with A/C, with private toilet and shower
• Water, Soft drinks, fruit and snacks available all day long
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner, all freshly cooked by our chef
• Kitesurfing supervisions: help and tips on the beach to help you make it right
• Wakeboarding, Snorkeling, and SUPs available

The cost doesn’t include

• Egyptian Visa (25$) to be paid at the airport
• Tips for the crew (normally you need to calculate an extra 50€)
• Alcoholic beverages (can be purchased on board, or/and you can bring your own)
• Kiting Equipment

OUR TEAM

The original founder of Sick Dog, Roberto will be in charge of the boat planning the route and the day to day kiting. Strapless riders and always ready for action, you can find him in Egypt during the summer and in Winter in Cape Verde.

Our most experienced instructor, DJ, Musician, Vanni is a fully versatile member of our team. His energy is hard to match, and the same goes with his kitesurfing skills. He is in charge of training advanced riders and he is in charge of our New Year’s Eve party night!
